The Memorial Walk for Hope and Healing is a community event which will be held on September 10, 2011 at Como Lake at Como Park and will bring together people who have experienced a loss of someone important in their lives.

Our society tends to minimize necessary rituals around death and grief and it is our hope that participants can use this event to gather family, friends and co-workers to walk and remember their loved ones.

The Memorial Walk benefits the Center for Grief, Loss, & Transition, a non-profit organization in our community that provides specialized therapy and caring support to individuals, families, and couples experiencing loss. (www.griefloss.org)

One walker summed up the event. “Healing begins with intention and it was my intention to walk for my mom who died last year of breast cancer.
